This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit biohackeurope.com, why we collect it, and your rights. We keep it short because we collect very little.
Who we are
biohackeurope.com is run by BioHack London Ltd. (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us about privacy at privacy@biohackeurope.com.
What we collect
- Data we collect with your consent. If you click “Accept all” in our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and the Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel to measure our ads. These collect information such as the pages you view, the link or ad that brought you here, your device and browser type, an approximate location based on your IP address, and cookie identifiers. If you click “Reject all”, we do not load them.
- Data needed to run the site. Our hosting provider processes your IP address and basic request details in server logs so the site can be delivered and protected from abuse. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google.
- Your cookie choice. We store whether you accepted or rejected cookies in your browser, so we don't ask again on every page.
We do not ask you to create an account, and there are no forms on this site. We do not sell your personal data.
Why we use it and our legal basis
- Analytics and ad measurement: your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations). You can withdraw consent at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer.
- Hosting, security and remembering your cookie choice: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Article 6(1)(f)).
Who we share it with
- Vercel Inc., which hosts the site.
- Google (Google Analytics and Google Fonts).
- Meta Platforms (Meta Pixel), only if you accept cookies.
- TikTok (TikTok Pixel), only if you accept cookies.
Some of these companies process data outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States. Where they do, transfers are covered by safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US and UK–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Cookie lifetimes are listed in our Cookie Policy. Hosting logs are kept for a short period set by our hosting provider.
Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email privacy@biohackeurope.com. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to the data protection authority in your EU country.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
